It gives us great pleasure in promoting the Lord Philemon Academic Scholarship (LPAS) sponsored by the National Young People’s Department (NYPD) which honors academic excellence and support of those pursuing higher education. Lord Philemon was the second National Young People’s President, (Bishop S. McDowell Shelton was the first) who served an illustrious and rewarding 35 years instructing and guiding the young people.

The NYPD regard education in high esteem, and encourages young people who are enrolling in post secondary institutions and demonstrates aptitudes for achievement to consider the LPAS. Moreover, this award seeks to reward members who display commitment to the services of the church – especially within the Young People’s Department.
